Why Korea is no longer a drug-free country

It is not appropriate or accurate to make generalizations about a country and label it as "no longer drug-free." Substance abuse and drug addiction are complex issues that can affect people from all walks of life, regardless of where they live.

There are many factors that can contribute to the rise of drug use in a country, including:

-Easy access to drugs due to changes in drug trafficking routes or an increase in domestic production.

-Economic and social stress, such as poverty, unemployment, and homelessness.

-A lack of awareness or education about the dangers of drug use.

-The normalization of drug use in popular culture and media.

-The availability of highly potent and dangerous drugs, such as synthetic opioids.

-The stigma and discrimination associated with drug addiction, which can prevent people from seeking help.

-A lack of access to effective treatment and recovery services.

-The failure of law enforcement and the criminal justice system to effectively address drug-related crime and public health issues.

-The increasing use of drugs as a means of self-medication for mental health and emotional problems.

-The rise of new drugs and drug-taking behaviors, such as prescription drug abuse and the use of illegal drugs in combination with one another.

It is important to approach drug use and addiction as a public health issue, rather than a criminal justice issue. This requires a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that addresses the root causes of drug use, provides effective treatment and support for those who are struggling with addiction, and reduces the harm associated with drug use for individuals, families, and communities.

It is also important to recognize that drug use and addiction are not limited to any particular country, culture, or demographic group. Substance abuse is a global issue that requires a collaborative and sustained effort from governments, health care providers, law enforcement, and communities to prevent and address.
